Guest Bedroom: Still A Work In Progress

I wanted to wait until the guest bedroom was completely done to show you guys the transformation - but I have a feeling it is going to be a work in progress for a while.

At least we're done painting - and that has yielded the most dramatic results so far.

Mister Boots helped tear down the blue tape.

The space is so open and fresh! We moved the bed back in. I piled every old, tattered quilt I could find on it. It's a little shabby chic but it also feels like home - which is how I want my guests to feel when they're over.

I found two huge wall maps (US and World) at Staples this weekend for only $11.95 for the pair! I need to find some sheets of cork to affix them to and hang them on the wall opposite the bed. I also found a plant for the night stand and am on the hunt for a little lamp. The rugs are fitting into the space a little awkwardly but we need one heavy enough for Jeremy's drums to sit on.

Hopefully I will have more to show you in the next few weeks.

Also, don't forget to enter the Vase Giveaway! I'm drawing a winner on Friday.

oohhh i like that little rug!

I love Mister Boots! He's so pretty!

You have a fantastic cat. And I love the quilts! Reminds me of the ones that we found in my grandma's house when we moved her into an apartment. All hand-sewn. It blows the mind.

I have maps hanging in my son's room. We had them mounted to foam core. Super Cheap and lightweight!

Mister Boots thanks ya'll for the compliments.

NewByMama - I can't believe I didn't think of that! Perfect solution. I was also thinking about tiling the entire wall in cork...
